“Trans-X” was founded in 1981 by Pascal Languirand in Montreal, Canada.
The group’s first EP “Living on Video”, quickly became a million seller around the world between 1984-1986 with the title track reaching the Top 10 on the international music charts.
“Living on Video” went on to become “the most successful and influential Hi-NRG/electro song of all time, and also the most covered 12″ single in history” according to EuroDanceHits, June ’06.
A true multi format crossover smash, “”Living on Video” has the rare distinction of being a staple on both alternative rock radio and dance music playlists throughout the world.

Pioneering the world of electronic music, Trans-X emerged in the early 80s and set a clear trend for the “space” sound within the global High Energy movement, which evolved while maintaining the principles that characterized the Trans-X style.
Trans-X, their musical flagship, gained international prominence in the 1980s with their distinctive single “Living on Video.” This anthem stands as the ultimate representative of Hi-NRG (high energy), captivating audiences from all corners of the planet. Its impact is such that it has generated over three hundred official remixes and a sociomusical movement in Mexico City, becoming an essential work in the dance music scene.
“Living on Video” achieved platinum status in Mexico due to its resounding success in physical vinyl record sales. In 1984, at the height of the high energy movement and topped the charts between 1983-1986 around the world, this sonic anthem even overshadowed the king of pop, staying above Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” for fifteen consecutive days on the charts.
However, Pascal’s artistic relevance goes beyond “Living on Video.” He has demonstrated exceptional adaptability and evolution, venturing into genres such as Synth-Pop, New Wave, Techno, and ambient music, consistently championing musical innovation.
In 2021, together with producer Ramon Serratos, they created a Trans-X album using elements of Psychedelic Trance, creating the Psy Energy sound. Currently, Trans-X is focused on the NEW DISCO and NEW HI-NRG sound.
Today, accompanied by his equally talented wife, Luana Viana de Souza, and producer and DJ Ramon Serratos, Pascal continues to push the boundaries of electronic music. Together, they form a dynamic group in the music industry, complementing and enhancing the group’s talent in creating new and exciting sounds.
